GUIDELINES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF ACADEMIC SERVICES OF SPECIALIZED HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS IN THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY

Abstract

The objectives of the study were to present guidelines for the development of academic service models from higher education institutions in the service industry. The total data of 283 participants were collected. The research instrument was a questionnaire and structured interview questionnaire.


     The study found that 1) the needs of the community to receive academic services from higher education institutions in the service industry were quite different in terms of types of academic service recipients. Both in terms of organizational characteristics, learner characteristics, availability of equipment and locations, the way to make an appointment, the nature of demand, duration of the activity, the safety in the event site and the consultation with officials in the organization, 2) In terms of the satisfaction of academic service recipients from higher education institutions in the service industry, it found that overall satisfaction with academic service was at the highest level. To consider each aspect, it was found that the area that academic service recipients were most satisfied with was the aspect of applying knowledge to use followed by the academic service provider respectively, 3) in case of factors affecting the satisfaction of academic service recipients from higher education institutions in the service industry, it found that the variable of the organizational types had an effect on the satisfaction of academic service recipients from the higher education institutes in terms of the academic service process or process of academic service providers and location / duration with statistical significance. But it did not affect the satisfaction of the recipients of the knowledge to be used, and 4) Guidelines for the development of academic service models from higher education institutions in the service industry found that there are suggestions for development in the process or the process of providing academic services.
