The Development of Performance Standards for Measurement and Registration Section at Sanpatong Wittayakom School, San Pa Tong District, Chiang Mai Province

Abstract

Two objectives of this research were 1) to study problems concerning the performance for measurement and registration section at Sanpatong Wittayakom school, 2) to develop of performance standards for measurement and registration section at Sanpatong Wittayakom school.  There were 4 steps as follows: in terms of the first step was to study problems concerning the performance for measurement and registration section at Sanpatong Wittayakom school, the target group of this study was a deputy director of academic department, job leaders, and staffs of measurement and registration section, instrument used was a focus group discussion, data were analyzed by descriptive synthesis; in terms of the second step was to draft the performance standards for measurement and registration section at Sanpatong Wittayakom school, the target group of this study was deputy director of academic department, leaders of measurement and registration section, instrument used was a draft the performance standards; in terms of the third step was to examine the suitability of the draft of the performance standards, the target group of this study was deputy director of academic department, measurement supervisors, instrument used was the checking form to examine the suitability and accuracy of the draft of the performance standards for measurement and registration section at Sanpatong Wittayakom school, data were analyzed by using the consistency index; in terms of the fourth step was to verify the staffs’ opinions in measurement and registration section after using the draft of the performance standards, instrument used was a questionnaire asking the staffs’ opinions affecting to the draft of the performance standards for measurement and registration section at Sanpatong Wittayakom school.

The research found that the problems concerning the performance were as follows: there were no organizational chart obviously, the operational procedures had many steps, lacked of mutual understanding between staffs in each sub-group, there was the confusion in the operational steps, the operational time was delayed because each sub-group staffs could not work instead, there were other jobs out of the direct responsibility of any staffs, and there was no flow chart of performance.

Regarding the examination results of the suitability of the draft of the performance standards for measurement and registration section at Sanpatong Wittayakom school were verified by the experts, it was found that all items were suitable, and the survey results of the staffs’ opinions after using the draft of the performance standards in all items were at the highest level.
