Phra Kring

Abstract

This article has the following objectives. 1) To study the meaning and history of Phra Kring. 2) To study the Buddha characteristics of Phra Kring. 3) To study the majestic power of Phra Kring. The results shown that Phra Kring means the name of metal amulet, hollow inside and contains with chunk metals which wrote the special charactor and had a noise when shaking. The begining of creation was in Tibet and propagate those belief to China since the Sui Dynasty around 1158 B.E. and entered Thailand during the 18th century Buddhism in the reign of King Jayavaraman VII and which was found Phra Kring at the Arokaya Sala Which was in the northeastern of Thailand. The characteristics of Phra Kring in buddhist countries such as Tibet, China, Cambodia and Thailand and relied on the Pala art model of India. But creators in each country have adapted in the different parts of their country. Phra Kring is a rare amulet and very popular in Thailand with power to prevent dangers, to treat of diseases and have a  majestic power to the mind.
