Development of Creative English Writing Using Cooperative Learning of Students in Department of Teaching English, Faculty of Education, Mahamakut Buddhist University Lanna Campus

The objective of this research was to study the effectiveness of cooperative learning on creative English writing skills of Teaching English students who took the ED 1067 Creative English Writing course in the second semester of 2019. The target population were 31 third-year students in the Department of Teaching English under the Faculty of Education at Mahamakut Buddhist University, Lanna Campus. The research instruments used were course instruction plan with the integration of cooperative learning approach, pre-test, formative test and post-test for creative English writing ability. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation and paired t-test. Duration of the experiment included 15 weeks. The English writing ability were measured 3 periods: pre-test (week 2), formative tests (weeks 4, 6, 11 and 14) and post-test (week 16). The results of the study revealed that the mean and standard deviation difference between the pre-test and post-test scores were 0.97 and 3.12 respectively ( x̅ = 0.97, S.D. = 3.12). There was significantly positive difference between post-test and pre-test scores in all students and poor English writing ability students at 0.05 level.
