The Development of Academic Collaborative Network Model for Small Sized Primary Schools in Kiensa District under Suratthani Primary Educational Service Area Office 3

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) to study the problems of academic operation and guidelines for development of academic collaborative network; 2) to create and develop the academic collaborative network model; 3) to assess the academic collaborative network model. The research procedure consisted of three steps as follows. Step 1 was to study the problems. Data were collected from 82 participants, including school administrators and teachers, selected by simple random sampling. Data were collected by a questionnaire with the reliability of 0.98 and an in-depth interview of five school administrators selected by purposive sampling. Step 2 was to develop the academic collaborative network model and estimate the content validity by five experts. Step 3 was to assess the suitability and feasibility of the academic collaborative network model. The sample were taken from Step 1. Data were collected by the suitability and feasibility assessment form with the reliability of .099 and were analyzed by frequency, mean, standard deviation, and content analysis.

The results of this research found that:

1. The overall problems of the academic operation were in a high level. The guidelines for building up the academic collaborative network model showed that there should be a policy and a plan for preparation of curriculum, teaching and learning management which is various, up-to-date, and consistent with the interests, needs, and aptitudes of students; and there should be a preparation of various internal supervision action plans, various assessment and evaluation methods, which are consistent with the curriculum and indicators, and evaluation methods in the same direction.
2. The development of the academic collaborative network model showed that the model consisted of: 1) Process of building up the academic collaborative network; 2) Factor composition of the academic collaborative network; 3) Scope/mission of the academic collaborative network; 4) Success condition.
3. The overall suitability and feasibility assessment of the academic collaborative network model were in the highest level and in a high level, respectively.
