Error Analysis of Chinese Sentence Writing of Second-Year Chinese Program Students at Suratthani Rajabhat University

Abstract
The primary aims of this research were to analyze the errors in the writing Chinese sentences by second-year Chinese major students, Academic Year 2024, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Suratthani Rajabhat University and to propose recommendations for enhancing classroom instruction. The purposive sampling technique was employed to select 34 second-year students enrolled in the Chinese Program at Suratthani Rajabhat University. The data were gathered through the administration of a post-test in which each student was instructed to compose a 20-sentence essay on the topic of “My Family”, resulting in a total of 680 sentences. The analytic framework utilized to examine the errors in Chinese sentence writing consisted of three distinct components: classifiers, prepositions, and adverbs of degree, drawing upon the language error analysis approach
The findings revealed 158 sentences that contained errors out of 680 sentences composed by the sample students, accounting for 23.24%. These identified errors could be classified into three components: 1. classifiers, which constituted 64 sentences, 2. prepositions, which constituted 83 sentences, and 3. adverbs of degree, which constituted 11 sentences.
