Inheriting Art and Cultural Wisdom Heritage of Ethnic Groups in Buriram Province

Abstract

The survey research in collecting the cultural wisdom heritage into the creating
the ethnic identity in Buriram Province, aimed to collect the information in the cultural wisdom heritage of the local communities in Buriram Province to support the development
of the electronic database for visitors to the Northeastern Cultural Center at Buriram Rajabhat University. With the target group in the operation, it was selected from 194 communities
of different ethnic groups in Buriram Province. From different districts where the ethnic groups lived in, there were 4 ethnic groups including: 1) the Thai-Laos ethnic group from Napo District,
2) Thai-Khmer ethic group from Huarat District, 3) Thai-Korat ethnic group from Nangrong   District, and 4) Thai-Kui ethnic group from Satuek District. Each ethnic group had different identities
in cultures with the fixed the survey including: community history, local wisdom information, folk technology, folk tools, hygiene, food with special identity, apparel, arts, music, folk dance, important places in communities, tourist attractions in communities, museum or learning resources, rites and beliefs, folk plays, folk legends or tales, values and local cultural wisdom in living.
The survey results could gain the database in the electronic form, collected in the website
of the Bureau of Arts and Culture, Buriram Rajabhat University. The information obtained could bring the information to help promoting, conservation and inheriting the culture and local wisdom for the next generation in societies to know and understand of one method to help promoting
the sustainable culture and to be inherited in for much longer time
