Foreword

Although the COVID-19 vaccination is being implemented in many countries, most of them have still not opened as usual, while face-to-face communication continues to be temporarily replaced by online. Working from home, online study, and online seminars have become the norm at the moment. After a year of online operations, the CJSSM editorial team has gained more experience in dealing with communications and collaboration. Online submissions, revisions, reviews, and editing have become more widely adopted. Our editorial team and peers are continuously striving to ensure that CJSSM maintains its standards and normal operations, especially the editing is carried out in a rigorous manner.

In the 9th issue of CJSSM, we have accepted ten manuscripts from academics and researchers from international and local institutions, including Panyapiwat Institute of Management, Baise University, Beijing Normal University, Shanghai Quanping Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., Prince of Songkla University, and Huachiew Chalermprakiet University. These studies comprise topics; such as, the power/knowledge integration process of open collective painting teams; the guiding power of internet public opinion crisis management—taking Daqing Oilfield news as an example; ownership concentration, innovation investment and firm performance—the evidence from Chinese manufacturing listed companies; the in fluence of enterprise culture on employee performance—taking loyalty as the mediating variable; the influence of abusive supervision on manager’s own anxiety based on the mediating role of job demands and regulatory role of emotional intelligence; exploration on the relationship between innovation capability, innovation input and corporate performance: a sample of pharmaceutical manufacturing; a comparative study of commonly used modal particles in Chinese and Thai language; the application of artificial intelligence technology in international Chinese language teaching; linguistic bias based on sociolinguistics by R. A. Hudson; and evaluation of service quality of university dormitory for Chinese student in Thailand using IPA tool.

As well as being available on the TCI’s and Panyapiwat Institute of Management’s platforms, those who are interested in reading our articles may also access the materials on the CNKI platform. This would certainly be a help to readers, especially in China. We believe that by providing access through another well-known platform like CNKI, the journal can increase its exposure and increase opportunities for future academic collaboration.

Foreword

Being an institution offering higher education programs in Chinese and given the limitation of Chinese publications in Thailand, it was our obligation and determination not only to find publication outlets for students and academics but also to pursue academic excellence. This was what motivated us to develop Chinese Journal of Social Science and Management at Panyapiwat Institute of Management. As a result of rigorous work, determination, and the efforts of many, it is our great pleasure to inform you that Chinese Journal of Social Science and Management has been listed in the Thai-Journal Citation Index (TCI 2). Without the support from all our contributors, peers, readers, advisors, editors and management, we would not have been able to reach this milestone. Accordingly, we would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude. In line with our tradition, we have accepted research articles from various institutions throughout Thailand. Specifically, in this issue we have 6 articles from 3 institutions (i.e. Huachiew Chalermprakiet University, Siam University, and Panyapiwat Institute of Management). The articles cover diversified subjects such as customer purchase intentions, campus resource planning, communication in Chinese, property purchase decisions, Chinese language usage in the copper industry, and the influencing factors on tourism consumption.

With more and more authors submitting papers, our next issue will be expanded to accept more articles. We hope that by being listed in TCI 2 and expanding the number of contributors, it will not only accommodate more scholarly research articles, but also expand the scope of our journal to reach other institutions in ASEAN and increase our academic readership and contributing capacity.

Editorial Note

The second issue of Chinese Journal of Social Science and Management is coming when the bells of 2018 are going to ring.

This issue follows the way of first issue and provides an academic platform for both Chinese and Thai scholars. It collected 6 research results, which from different perspectives studied on questions between China and Thailand: A scholar of Guangxi University of Finance and Economics in China studied and analyzed the problems of poverty alleviation in Guangxi and made suggestions.

The scholars from Huachiew Chalermprakiet University mainly studied on Thai enterprises, which have some issues about Chinese application problems in the process of Sino-Thai international trade. Scholars at Panyapiwat Institute of Management in Thailand studied problems on both Chinese enterprises and products in the Thai market, as well as on the development issues of Thai enterprises in China or Local market.

The researcher results will be an important asset for the academic platform and hopefully can become a productive force with special significance in the future.

Finally, on the occasion of welcoming the New Year, I wish that prospective scholars and colleagues work hard and will have a new chapter in the next year.
