📢 The journal invites submissions of research and academic articles, in both Thai and English, for publication.

The Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University publishes the Chiang Mai University Journal of Economics with the objective of disseminating academic knowledge in economics and serving as a platform for reporting research progress. The journal is published twice a year: Issue 1 (January–June), published in June; and Issue 2 (July–December), published in December. At present, the journal has been quality-certified and is listed as a Tier 3 journal by the Thai-Journal Citation Index Centre (TCI) (TCI Tier 3).

We would like to invite interested individuals to submit research articles and academic articles, in both Thai and English, for publication in the journal from now onward.

Chiang Mai University Journal of Economics (CMJE) was established in 1996 and is published by the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University. The journal is currently indexed in the Thai-Journal Citation Index (TCI) Tier 3 and has the International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) 2651-0979.

Aims and Scope

CMJE aims to serve as a primary channel for disseminating academic and research progress in Economics, including but not limited to:            

  • Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Econometrics            
  • Financial Economics, Monetary Economics, and Public Economics            
  • Development Economics, Labor Economics, and International Economics            
  • Agricultural Economics, Environmental Economics, and Energy Economics            
  • Managerial Economics and Supply Chain Economics

Types of Manuscripts Accepted and Language          

CMJE accepts original research articles and review articles within the journal’s scope. Manuscripts are accepted in both Thai and English.

Publication Frequency

The journal is published semiannually (two issues per year), as follows:          

  • Issue 1: January–June          
  • Issue 2: July–December

Call for Submissions          

CMJE accepts manuscript submissions year-round on a rolling basis, with no fixed submission deadline. The order and timing of publication depend on the manuscript’s readiness after completing the review and revision process and the journal’s publication schedule.

Peer Review Policy (Double-Blind Peer Review)

CMJE applies a double-blind peer review system. Each manuscript is reviewed by three expert reviewers whose expertise matches the relevant subject area and who are approved by the editorial board. Throughout the review process, both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to one another, and identifying information is not disclosed to either party.

Reviewers are selected based on their academic expertise, research experience, and the absence of conflicts of interest. For each manuscript, the reviewers are appointed from institutions different from the submitting author’s institution to ensure an independent and credible review process.

Chiang Mai University Journal of Economics (CMJE) is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal published by the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, Thailand which aims to be a channel to report academic progression in the field of economics. It was established in 1996 and has been indexed in the Thai-Journal Citation Index TCI Tier 3.

CMJE publishes original research/academic papers and review articles in 2 issues per year

Since 2020 onward

Since 2020, CMJE has been available both as a printed book for interested individuals, libraries, and institutions, and as an online open-access journal at: https://www.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/CMJE

Publication Fee: There are no submission fees or publication charges for authors. CMJE is committed to providing a platform for academic exchange without financial barriers.

Peer Review Process

Each manuscript is pre-screened by the Editor. The Editor may ask for revisions before the refereeing process. Once a paper passes the pre-screening process, each article will be reviewed under a double-blind peer review system by three independent referees. The Editorial Board will make the final decision based on the referees’ comments.

The journal aims to provide a primary response to authors within 8 weeks of the date of submission. The duration of the complete acceptance process will vary with the revisions required.
