Guidelines and Considerations for Article Submission and Publication

The editorial board of the Chiang Mai University Journal of Economics (CMJE) has established submission guidelines for authors as a reference for submitting articles for publication. The editorial board also reserves the right to review articles prior to publication to ensure the journal maintains high-quality standards and remains a reliable source for academic citation.

 

Article Criteria

1. The article must be an academic or research paper in various fields of economics, such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, financial economics, international economics, labor economics, managerial economics, transportation and logistics economics, agricultural economics, natural resource and environmental economics, econometrics, development economics, public economics, energy economics, political economy, community economics, behavioral economics, industrial economics, and other related fields. The editorial board will assess whether submissions align with the journal’s objectives and scope.
2. The article must be written in either Thai or English and pertain to economics within the specified scope or other relevant disciplines.
3. The article must be original, unpublished, and must not have been previously presented at any academic conference. Additionally, they must not be under consideration for publication in any other journal.
4. Submitted articles must have a Similarity Index of no more than 25%, as verified by Turnitin. If the similarity index exceeds the specified threshold, authors must revise and resubmit the article for further consideration.

 

Publication Fees

CMJE does not charge any publication fees.

 

Manuscript Preparation and Submission Requirements

Authors must prepare their manuscripts according to the following requirements:

1. Language and Formatting
   • Manuscripts must undergo spelling and grammatical checks before submission.
   • Research and academic articles should include the following components:

• First page: Title, author(s) name(s) and affiliation(s), abstract, keywords (maximum of 5), and JEL Classification Codes (available at JEL Codes).
• Main content: Introduction, research methodology, results, discussion, conclusion and recommendations, acknowledgments (if applicable), and references formatted according to APA Style. Authors may adjust sections as appropriate.

1.3 Manuscripts must be prepared in Microsoft Word, using A4 paper with single spacing. Margins should be set as follows:

• Top and left margins: 1.5 inches
• Bottom and right margins: 1 inch

2. Font Specifications

For Thai manuscripts (Angsana New):

• Title: 16 BOLD
• Author’s name: 14 BOLD
• Affiliation: 12
• Main text: 14
• Footnotes: 12

For English manuscripts (Times New Roman):

• Title: 14 BOLD
• Author’s name: 11 BOLD
• Affiliation: 10
• Main text: 10
• Footnotes: 9
• Table titles, table contents, and figure captions: 10
• Table and figure references: 9

3. Tables and Figures:

• Titles for figures should be placed below the image.
• Titles for tables should be placed above the table.
• All tables, figures, and graphs must be in English, even if the article is written in Thai.

4. Mathematical Equations:

• Clearly define all mathematical symbols and variables.
• Empirical data should specify sources, definitions, and timeframes.
• Equations should be center-aligned, with equation numbers aligned to the right margin.
• Use Microsoft Equation 3.0 for equations (Insert > Object > Object type = Microsoft Equation 3.0 > OK).

5. Citations and References:

• Citations and references must follow APA Style and use Roman script only.
• Thai references must be translated into English with “(in Thai)” at the end.

6. Footnotes:

• Use superscript numbering for footnotes in the main text.

Article Submission

Authors must submit their formatted articles via the ThaiJo online submission system at: https://so01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/CMJE  

 

Article Review Process

Submitted articles undergo double-blind peer review by three experts, including external and internal reviewers from the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University. Authors will receive feedback and may be required to revise their articles based on reviewer recommendations. If an article is rejected, the editorial board will provide a formal explanation.

 

Review Process Type

CMJE follows a double-blind review process, meaning:

• Reviewers do not know the identity of the authors.
• Authors do not know the identity of the reviewers.

ข้อกำหนดและการพิจารณาบทความเพื่อตีพิมพ์ในวารสาร

          กองบรรณาธิการวารสารคณะเศรษฐศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ ได้กำหนดระเบียบการส่งบทความไว้ให้ผู้เขียนยึดเป็นแนวทางในการส่งบทความสำหรับการตีพิมพ์ลงในวารสารคณะเศรษฐศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ (Chiang Mai University Journal of Economics (CMJE)) และกองบรรณาธิการสามารถตรวจสอบบทความก่อนการตีพิมพ์ เพื่อให้วารสารมีคุณภาพสามารถนำไปใช้อ้างอิงได้

1. เป็นบทความวิชาการ หรือบทความวิจัย ด้านเศรษฐศาสตร์สาขาต่าง ๆ เช่น เศรษฐศาสตร์จุลภาค เศรษฐศาสตร์มหภาค เศรษฐศาสตร์การเงิน เศรษฐศาสตร์ระหว่างประเทศ เศรษฐศาสตร์แรงงาน เศรษฐศาสตร์การจัดการ เศรษฐศาสตร์การขนส่งและโลจิสติกส์ เศรษฐศาสตร์การเกษตร เศรษฐศาสตร์ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อม เศรษฐมิติ เศรษฐศาสตร์การพัฒนา เศรษฐศาสตร์สาธารณะ เศรษฐศาสตร์พลังงาน เศรษฐศาสตร์การเมือง เศรษฐกิจชุมชน เศรษฐศาสตร์พฤติกรรม เศรษฐศาสตร์อุตสาหกรรม เป็นต้น และสาขาอื่น ๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้องซึ่งกองบรรณาธิการวารสารพิจารณาแล้วว่ามีความสอดคล้องกับวัตถุประสงค์และขอบเขตเนื้อหาของวารสาร
2. เป็นบทความภาษาไทยหรือภาษาอังกฤษที่มีเนื้อหาเกี่ยวข้องกับเศรษฐศาสตร์ในขอบเขตที่กำหนด หรือสาขาอื่น ๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้อง
3. บทความของผู้เขียนจะต้องเป็นบทความทางวิชาการ/ บทความวิจัย ที่เป็นผลงานใหม่ที่ไม่เคยเผยแพร่หรือตีพิมพ์ในรูปแบบใด ๆ มาก่อน และไม่ส่งบทความเดียวกันเพื่อพิจารณาตีพิมพ์เผยแพร่ในรูปแบบอื่น ๆ หรือวารสารอื่น ๆ หากผู้เขียนมีการนำข้อความหรือข้อมูลที่มีการเผยแพร่มาแล้วของผู้อื่นมาประกอบในบทความ จะต้องมีการอ้างอิงทั้งในเนื้อหาและท้ายบทความให้ครบถ้วน รวมถึงชื่อผู้เขียนทุกท่านที่ปรากฎในบทความจะต้องเป็นผู้ที่มีส่วนร่วมในผลงานวิชาการหรืองานวิจัยและมีส่วนร่วมรับผิดชอบในการรายงานข้อมูลที่เป็นจริง ไม่มีการบิดเบือนข้อมูลในบทความ
4. บทความที่ส่งมาเพื่อพิจารณาต้องมีค่าความซ้ำซ้อน (Similarity Index) ของบทความไม่เกิน 25% โดยจะดำเนินการตรวจสอบค่าดังกล่าวด้วยโปรแกรม Turnitin หากพบว่าบทความมีค่าความซ้ำซ้อน (Similarity Index) เกินมาตรฐานที่กำหนด ผู้เขียนจะต้องปรับแก้บทความและส่งกลับมาพิจารณาใหม่อีกครั้ง

 

อัตราค่าใช้จ่ายในการตีพิมพ์บทความในวารสาร

          ไม่เรียกเก็บค่าธรรมเนียมในการตีพิมพ์

 

การเตรียมต้นฉบับและข้อกำหนดของบทความ

ผู้เขียนจะต้องดำเนินการเตรียมต้นฉบับตามรายละเอียด ดังนี้

1. ต้นฉบับจะต้องได้รับการตรวจการสะกดคำและไวยากรณ์ภาษาอังกฤษก่อนยื่นเข้ารับการพิจารณาตีพิมพ์
2. บทความวิจัยและบทความวิชาการควรประกอบไปด้วยส่วนต่าง ๆ ดังนี้
   • หน้าแรกประกอบด้วย ชื่อเรื่อง ชื่อและข้อมูลผู้เขียนหลักและผู้เขียนร่วม บทคัดย่อ คำสำคัญ (ไม่เกิน 5 คำ) และ JEL Classification Codes (สามารถสืบค้นได้จาก https://www.aeaweb.org/econlit/jelCodes.php)
   • เนื้อหาประกอบด้วย บทนำ วิธีการศึกษา ผลการศึกษา อภิปรายผล สรุปและข้อเสนอแนะ กิตติกรรมประกาศ(ถ้ามี) และเอกสารอ้างอิงตามรูปแบบ APA (สามารถปรับหัวข้อหรือองค์ประกอบที่แตกต่างได้ตามความเหมาะสม)
3. ต้นฉบับจัดทำโดยใช้โปรแกรม Microsoft Word กำหนดระยะห่างระหว่างบรรทัดแบบหนึ่งเท่า (Single Space) ขนาดกระดาษ A4 เว้นระยะขอบส่วนบน ขอบซ้าย อย่างละ 1.5 นิ้ว เว้นระยะขอบล่าง ขอบขวา อย่างละ 1 นิ้ว
4. บทความภาษาไทยใช้ตัวอักษร Angsana New สำหรับภาษาไทยโดยมีขนาดตัวอักษร ดังนี้

• ชื่อเรื่อง ขนาด 16 BOLD
• ชื่อผู้แต่ง ขนาด 14 BOLD
• สังกัด ขนาด 12
• เนื้อหาบทความ ขนาด 14
• เชิงอรรถ ขนาด 12

และใช้ตัวอักษร Time New Roman สำหรับภาษาอังกฤษ

• ชื่อเรื่อง ขนาด 14 BOLD
• ชื่อผู้แต่ง ขนาด 11 BOLD
• สังกัด ขนาด 10
• เชิงอรรถ ขนาด 9
• เนื้อหาบทความ ขนาด 10
• ชื่อตาราง เนื้อหาในตาราง และชื่อรูป ขนาด 10
• ที่มา อ้างอิงของตารางและรูป ขนาด 9

5. ให้ระบุชื่อรูปภาพด้านล่างของรูปภาพ และระบุชื่อตารางด้านบนหัวตาราง โดยเนื้อหาของตาราง รูปภาพ และกราฟจะต้องเป็นภาษาอังกฤษเท่านั้น แม้จะเป็นบทความภาษาไทย
6. หากมีความจำเป็นต้องใช้สมการคณิตศาสตร์ให้ระบุคำนิยามของสัญลักษณ์หรือตัวแปรทางคณิตศาสตร์ที่ชัดเจนครบถ้วน ส่วนการใช้ข้อมูลเชิงประจักษ์จะต้องแสดงถึงแหล่งที่มา คำนิยามและระยะเวลาของข้อมูลให้ชัดเจน โดยแสดงสมการที่กึ่งกลางหน้ากระดาษ และจะต้องกำหนดเลขสมการชิดขอบกระดาษด้านขวา
7. การพิมพ์สมการ หรือเครื่องหมายทางคณิตศาสตร์ใด ๆ ให้พิมพ์โดยใช้ Microsoft Equation 0 (Insert > Object > Object type = Microsoft Equation 3.0 > OK)
8. การอ้างอิงในบทความและเอกสารอ้างอิงจะต้องจัดให้อยู่ในรูปแบบ APA Style และเป็นอักษรโรมันเท่านั้น กรณี เอกสารอ้างอิงภาษาไทยให้ภาษาอังกฤษโดยลงท้ายด้วย (in Thai)
9. ใช้เชิงอรรถในรูปแบบของตัวเลข Superscript เรียงลำดับในตัวบทความ

การส่งบทความ

          ผู้เขียนสามารถส่งบทความที่จัดหน้าบทความตามข้อกำหนดของรูปแบบวารสารผ่านระบบ Thaijo ได้ที่  https://so01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/CMJE  

 

 การประเมินบทความ

          บทความจะได้รับการประเมินจากผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ (Peer Review) ทั้งจากภายนอกและภายในคณะเศรษฐศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ จำนวน 3 ท่านต่อบทความ และจะส่งผลการประเมินบทความคืนให้แก่ผู้เขียน เพื่อแก้ไขตามคำแนะนำของผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ หรือปฎิเสธการตีพิมพ์พร้อมด้วยจดหมายชี้แจงเหตุผล แล้วแต่กรณี

 

รูปแบบการประเมินบทความ

          ผู้ประเมิน (Reviewer) จะไม่ทราบชื่อผู้เขียน (Author) และผู้เขียน (Author) จะไม่ทราบชื่อผู้ประเมิน(Reviewer) (Double Blind Process)
