About the Journal

Objectives

The Journal of Liberal Arts and Service Industry is a journal published by the Faculty of Hospitality Industry, Kasetsart University. It is established to publish high-quality research articles, academic articles, and book reviews in the fields of:

Thai language, English language, Western languages, Eastern languages, Literature, Applied Linguistics, Business Administration, Economics, Political Science, Public Administration, Social Sciences, Education, and the service industry group (e.g., Hotel Management, Tourism, Food and Restaurant, Aviation Business, MICE - Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions), Cultural Communication, and Interpersonal Communication (both verbal and non-verbal).

The journal accepts submissions in both Thai and English, serving as a medium for presenting high-quality, high-standard articles reviewed by qualified experts from diverse disciplines.

Announcement

The journal has a policy to publish 2 issues per year as follows:

  • Issue 1: January - June

  • Issue 2: July - December

Journal Policy

  1. The journal does not use queuing, a common question from authors. Whether an article is published sooner or later depends solely on the quality, standard, and completeness of the article, as determined by the peer reviewers' evaluation.

  2. For publication, any accepted article will be uploaded to the website immediately (online-first) and will be sequenced until approximately one month before the issue's closing date.

  3. The journal does not set a specific number of articles per issue. The articles published depend solely on the evaluation of the appointed peer reviewers.

  4. Interested authors are required to pay a fee for the peer review process. Thai-language articles: 4,000 THB per article. English-language articles: 5,500 THB per article. (In accordance with the Kasetsart University announcement regarding "Determination of Article Processing Charges for the Journal of Liberal Arts and Service Industry, Kasetsart University," dated November 24, 2022 [2565 BE]).

  5. Authors who submit research or academic articles can pay the APCs to:

    • Bank: Siam Commercial Bank (SCB)

    • Account Name: Kasetsart University Kamphaeng Saen Campus

    • Account Number: 769-200001-0

  6. According to the Kasetsart University announcement dated November 24, 2022 [2565 BE]: "In the event that an article does not pass the quality assessment by the peer reviewers, the author cannot request a refund of the APCs."

APCs Structure Announcement

In accordance with the resolution of the Faculty of Service Industry Board Meeting No. 2-4/2024, held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 [2567 BE], the Article Processing Charges (APCs) for the Journal of Liberal Arts and Service Industry are set as follows:

  1. Lecturers, staff, and special experts affiliated with the Faculty of Hospitality Industry are exempt from paying APCs for both Thai and foreign language articles.

  2. Students (undergraduate, master's, doctoral) from the Faculty of Service Industry who co-author articles with a lecturer in the same faculty are exempt from paying APCs for both Thai and foreign language articles.

  3. Lecturers, personnel, and students (undergraduate, master's, doctoral) within Kasetsart University but not affiliated with the Faculty of Hospitality Industry:

    • Thai language article: 2,000 THB per article.

    • Foreign language article: 2,750 THB per article.

  4. Individuals external to Kasetsart University:

    • Thai language article: 4,000 THB per article.

    • Foreign language article: 5,500 THB per article.

This policy is effective from January 2, 2024 [2567 BE], onwards.
