Abstract

          The objective of this study is to study the conceptualization of service innovation that affects the success of traditional retail businesses. Using a literature review method and information from secondary sources, we start from focusing various documents and works related research books as well as published documents. In addition, we search through the internet using relevant keywords (according to the study framework) and interview a specialist in retail consulting for at least 5 years, Business owner And service users, using the document analysis as a research tool. The obtained results are based on using an analytical description. The scope of study includes service innovation and traditional retail businesses under the premise that service innovation affecting the success of traditional retail businesses.

          The results indicate that the conceptual framework for service innovation influences the success of the traditional retail business. In this work, there are two significant components: a theoretical component of service innovation and a component focusing on marketing mix for traditional retail service businesses. Further the suggestions obtained from expert interviews can be summarized on two issues: (1) Self- assessment and (2) Analysis in business model or BMC (Business Model Canvas) that is a guideline for business improvement development to provide service innovations that affect the success of the traditional retail business.
