Abstract

          This research aims to 1) develop and find the efficiency of Kanchanaburi province’s folktale series sets, and 2) evaluate the effectiveness of using Kanchanaburi province’s folktale series sets about reading comprehension skills and folk literature’s appreciation. The samples used in the research were 15 persons in primary 6 students from Ban Laem Thong school, Dan Makham Tia district, Kanchanaburi province, studied in the second semester, academic year of 2020 by simple random sampling. The instrument used in this research were Kanchanaburi province’s folktales series sets ,lesson plans ,pre- and post-tests form had the Index of Congruence was between 0.67 – 1.00, difficulties between 0.31 - 0.63, discrimination between 0.37-0.60 ,the reliability at 0.78 and appreciate interviewing form had the Index of Congruence was 1.00. The statistics employed for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test dependent were statically significant at 0.05 level and content analysis.
          The result of research: 1) the Kanchanaburi provinces to folktale series sets to enhance reading comprehension skills were consists of 4 sets 12 title has an efficiency value of 82.46/84.80 2) the effectiveness of using Kanchanaburi province’s folktale series sets reading comprehension skills after higher than before study with 0.5 level of statistical significance. And appreciate in folk literature that after using the folktale series sets of Kanchanaburi province, folk tales are valued for enjoyment, enhance intelligence and give ideas and moral that can be applied to happy life.
