Studies of conditions and criteria for determining wage appropriate for living to be accepted by employers and employees in the industrial age 4.0 in Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC)

This research is a study to search for the condition and criteria for determining the appropriate wages for a living to be accepted by employers and employees in the age of Industry 4.0 in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). The objective of this research is to study the conditions, criteria and formulas for increase the wages that are appropriate for living to be accepted by employers and employees in the age of Industry 4.0 in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). The study was conducted from research papers, academic articles, journals, news, searching for information from the Internet that have studied in various aspects. And used an In-depth Interview with 8 experts who are directly related to labor. A questionnaire was applied to a sample of 400 persons by convenience sampling with 200 employers’ representatives and 200 employees’ representatives. And confirm the credibility with the process of meeting a group (Focus group) with specialist and experts from the Federation of Thai Industries, (Chonburi Province) 28 persons.
From the results of the research, 5 conditions and 6 criteria were found for increase the wages appropriate for living and the formula that comes from Multiple Regression is Y´(The wage appropriate for living)=X1(Cost of living of the previous year)+X2(Minimum wage of the area in previous year)+X3(Consumer Price index)+X4(Exchange rate)+X5(Housing cost)+X6(Direct labor cost) to be calculated in order to increase wages that are appropriate for living to be accepted by employers and employees In the age of Industry 4.0 in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).
