Community Development of Housing Preparation Activities for Aging Society in Bungwai Sub-District, Warin Chamrab District, Ubon Ratchathani Province

The participatory action research (PAR) aimed to develop preparation activities for the aging society in Bungwai Sub-District, Warin Chamrab District, Ubon Ratchathani Province. The result of driving operations under the spatial research management system and mechanism (Budgeted by The Thailand Research Fund; TRF). Results showed that Bung Wai Subdistrict has changed from a rural community to a semi-urban community that has already become an aging society. Improvement of living conditions to suit age is important because the original process focused on making the house stable and a strong lack of suitable house conditions according to the characteristics of the residents. The process that the community has taken to create change starts with the phase of searching for people to serve as a working group for local mobility. Operational phase by training workshops to develop academic knowledge (Assessment of International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health; ICF) and on-site experiments (Universal Design; UD). The outcome of the community is an activity to develop community potential in preparing housing for the aging society, namely "Community Technician Group". Among the participants were 30 projects from various occupational groups. Home improvement in the community to be a model of 2 houses. Currently, the community has place and funding and they are operating continuously.
