Strategic of Education Management for the Elderly Towards Developing Active Ageing

Abstract

        The Purposes of this research was to study state, problems, needs and strategic of education management for the elderly towards developing active ageing in Chiang Mai. Samples were 200 ageing who studying at the elderly Charabanwuthiwithaya School,  3 school staff and 14 persons who were academics, trainer, staff of local government who involved with education for elderly. Data were collected by questionnaire and interview then analyzed by percentage and table with description and analyzed by content and presented by description. Research findings were that the elderly school was built by local government, Cheongdoi Municipality, aimed to develop the quality of ageing in the area.  Ageing satisfied with the school activities listening monk gave a sermon, recreation, health care, career and local art at good level for 89.00, 66.00, 82.50, 72.50 and 72.50. satisfied with school management, useful from studying at good level for 97.50 and 98.50%. Samples satisfied with collaboration of the department of Vocational Education and Wellness Promotion at good level for 100%. For utility knowledge and skills from studying at home, samples expressed at moderate level for 55.50% because of less inspiration at home. Problems and needs for ageing education, samples unsatisfied with transportation and application to use at home for 38.00 and 44.50 % while samples need to study about physical and mental health for 42.00. For the school operation expressed their obstacles were regulation on financial utility, ageing transportation and place for school management.  Strategic of education management for the elderly towards developing active ageing, research found that: elderly school has to train elderly to be leaders and manage the activities by themselves, train other trainers, prepare for art course and use community center for education of elderly that running by elderly.
