STEM Education Learning Management Guidelines: Case Study of Ratchaburi Province

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) explore the information needed for STEM Education Learning Management that is consistent with the Ratchaburi provincial context, and 2) synthesize the research findings and develop the context-relevant STEM Education Learning Management guidelines. The data were collected from 11 participants: 2 institute executives, 2 educational supervisors, 1 mathematics teacher, 1 science teacher, 1 technology teacher, 2 lecturers of the faculty of education and 2 lecturers of the faculty of science and technology. The finding revealed that there were 12 steps of STEM Education Learning Management that are consistent with the Ratchaburi provincial context: 1) drive STEM Education Learning Management policies and guidelines into action in educational institutions, 2) collaborate with the experts as educational institution mentors, giving guidance on STEM Education Learning Management, 3) organize workshops on educational curriculum improvement for STEM Education Learning Management, 4) develop school STEM-related courses for each study level, 5) require the cooperation among mathematics, science and technology teachers to develop STEM Education Learning Management for each study level and subject, 6) develop STEM Education Learning Management that is consistent with the educational institutional context with the help of learner-related teaching topics as a part of learning so that knowledge can be applied in their daily lives, 7) coordinate local experts or wisdom members to share the knowledge related to the issues used for STEM Education Learning Management, 8) provide teaching aids and resources needed for STEM Education Learning Management as mutually planned, 9) design proper assessment and evaluation techniques for various types of knowledge including important and necessary skills in accordance with the standards and indicators as mentioned in curriculum, 10) manage classes as planned including collect the data of advantages and limitations for further improvement, 11) use the results of learning management for further STEM Education Learning Management improvements, 12) conduct classroom research to promote academic practices and ways to improve learning management.
