The Role of Yoiy Klongleng in the Traditions and Cultural Transmission of the Ban Akat Community Akat Sub-district Akat Amnuai District Sakon Nakhon Province

Abstract

This academic consists purposes to study and analyze the role of Yoi Klang Leng within the context of local traditions and cultural transmission in Ban Akat community, Akat Subdistrict, Akat Amnuai District, Sakon Nakhon Province. The study focuses on specific data and geographic boundaries. The data collection methods include in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The findings reveal that Yoi Klang Leng plays a significant role in local rituals and traditions such as the Loi Ruea Fai Festival, Long Boat Racing, Buddhist Lent Festival, Bun Bang Fai (Rocket Festival), and Bun Mahachat (Great Sermon Festival). Besides fostering enjoyment and community solidarity, Yoi Klang Leng serves as an important medium for transmitting values, beliefs, and ways of life to younger generations. However, social and cultural changes in modern times pose challenges to the continuity of this performance. Therefore, appropriate conservation measures are necessary, including promotion through the education system and local community activities.
