Development of Thai Pattern Sculpting Ability using Creativity-based Learning for Vocational Certificate Students

This research consists purposes were 1. to compare the Thai traditional decorative pattern sculpting abilities of vocational certificate students before and after participating in creativity-based learning and 2. to investigate vocational certificate students’ satisfaction with creativity-based learning designed to enhance their Thai traditional decorative pattern sculpting abilities. This study employed a quantitative, quasi-experimental research design. The research instruments consisted of lesson plans, an assessment form for Thai pattern sculpting ability and a satisfaction questionnaire. The sample comprised 28 participants selected through cluster random sampling. The data collected were analyzed using mean, standard deviation and t-test. The findings revealed that 1) vocational certificate students demonstrated significantly higher Thai traditional decorative pattern sculpting abilities after participating in creativity-based learning than before the intervention, at the .05 level of statistical significance and 2) the students’ overall satisfaction with creativity-based learning aimed at enhancing their Thai traditional decorative pattern sculpting abilities was at a high level (x ̅ = 4.38, S.D. = 0.30).
