Transformational Leadership of School Administrators Affecting Teachers’ Work Motivation under the Pathum Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office

This research consists purposes were 1. to examine the level of transformational leadership among school administrators under the Pathum Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 2. to investigate the level of teachers' work motivation under the Pathum Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 3. to examine the relationship between school administrators' transformational leadership and teachers' work motivation under the Pathum Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 and 4. to investigate the influence of school administrators' transformational leadership on teachers' work motivation under the Pathum Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office 1. This study employed a quantitative research design. The sample consisted of 329 teachers under the Pathum Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office 1. The sample size was determined using Taro Yamane’s (1973) formula, and participants were selected through stratified random sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, Pearson’s product-moment correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The research findings revealed that 1) the overall level of transformational leadership among school administrators was high (x̅= 4.25, S.D. =.341) 2) the overall level of teachers' work motivation was high (x̅= 4.32, S.D.= 0.254) 3) there was a strong positive correlation between school administrators' transformational leadership and teachers' work motivation (rxty=0.876), which was statistically significant at the .01 level and 4) four dimensions of school administrators' transformational leadership individualized consideration, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation and idealized influence were identified as predictors of teachers' work motivation. Collectively, these four dimensions accounted for 79.70% of the variance in teachers' work motivation.
