The Development Approaches for School Leaders of Krabi Primary Educational Service Area Office Based on Growth Mindset

Growth Mindset, Leadership Development


The objectives of this study were: 1) to study the current state and the desirable state of development for school leaders of Krabi Primary Educational Service Area Office based on Growth Mindset and 2) to propose the development approaches for school leaders of Krabi Primary Educational Service Area Office based on Growth Mindset. This study employed descriptive research. Respondents were 138 school leaders defined by Krejcie & Morgan’s Determining Sample Size table. The research instruments were questionnaires and the evaluation forms for appropriability and possibility of the approaches. Statistics used for data analysis included frequency distribution, mean, median, standard deviation, percentage and modified priority needs index.

The research findings were as follows. 1) The current state of development for school leaders of Krabi Primary Educational Service Area Office based on Growth Mindset was, overall, at the moderate level. (  = 2.83, SD = 0.96); while the desirable state of development for school leaders of Krabi Primary Educational Service Area Office based on Growth Mindset was, overall, at the high level (  = 4.29, SD = 0.64). While considering each aspect, it was found that to believe that intellectual capability can be developed was at the highest level for the desirable state and was the first priority need. However, while considering development method, it revealed that the first priority need method was the blended training model. 2) The development approaches for school leaders of Krabi Primary Educational Service Area Office based on Growth Mindset were divided into 4 approaches, according to the Growth mindset characteristics.
