การวิจัยในครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาสภาพปัจจุบัน สภาพที่พึงประสงค์ และความต้องการจำเป็นในการพัฒนาการบริหารวิชาการโรงเรียนอนุบาลเอกชนตามแนวคิดพื้นฐานสำหรับความสำเร็จของผู้ใหญ่รุ่นเยาว์ กลุ่มตัวอย่างจำนวน 254 โรงเรียนโดยการสุ่มแบบหลายขั้นตอน ผู้ให้ข้อมูลแบ่งออกเป็น 3 กลุ่มได้แก่ ผู้บริหาร หัวหน้าฝ่ายปฐมวัย และครูผู้สอน จำนวน 762 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้คือแบบสอบถาม วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้สถิติ ค่าความถี่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และค่าดัชนีความต้องการจำเป็น
ผลการวิจัยพบว่าสภาพปัจจุบันของการพัฒนาการบริหารวิชาการโรงเรียนอนุบาลเอกชนตามแนวคิดพื้นฐานสำหรับความสำเร็จของผู้ใหญ่รุ่นเยาว์ ในภาพรวม อยู่ในระดับมาก ( = 4.04) โดยการบริหารวิชาการที่มีค่าเฉลี่ยสูงที่สุด คือ การพัฒนาหลักสูตร ( = 4.11) รองลงมาคือ การประเมินพัฒนาการ ( = 4.06) และการจัดประสบการณ์เรียนรู้ ( = 3.94) มีค่าเฉลี่ยต่ำสุด ส่วนสภาพที่พึงประสงค์ของการพัฒนาการบริหารวิชาการโรงเรียนอนุบาลเอกชนตามแนวคิดพื้นฐานสำหรับความสำเร็จของผู้ใหญ่รุ่นเยาว์ในภาพรวม อยู่ในระดับมากที่สุด ( = 4.54) โดยการบริหารวิชาการที่มีค่าเฉลี่ยสูงที่สุด คือ การพัฒนาหลักสูตร ( = 4.58) รองลงมาคือ การประเมินพัฒนาการ ( = 4.53) และการจัดประสบการณ์เรียนรู้ ( = 4.51) มีค่าเฉลี่ยต่ำสุด ทั้งนี้ค่าดัชนีความต้องการจำเป็นของการพัฒนาการบริหารวิชาการโรงเรียนอนุบาลเอกชนตามแนวคิดพื้นฐานสำหรับความสำเร็จของผู้ใหญ่รุ่นเยาว์ที่มีลำดับความจำเป็นสูงสุดคือ การจัดประสบการณ์เรียนรู้ (PNImodified = 0.145) รองลงมาคือการประเมินพัฒนาการ (PNImodified = 0.116) และการพัฒนาหลักสูตร (PNImodified = 0.114) ตามลำดับ
