The challenge of Entrepreneurship and Social Entrepreneurship education to encourage a sustainable mindset and sustainable lifestyle for Students in 1st and 2nd groups of Thai university

The purpose of this study was twofold: 1) to study the objectives and teaching approaches related to entrepreneurs or social entrepreneurs, and 2) to examine the problems, obstacles, and challenges of teaching entrepreneurship or social entrepreneurship to promote sustainable thinking and lifestyles for students in the context of teaching at universities in Thailand that are ranked in groups 1 and 2. In this study, 14 instructors were involved, all of whom were from Thai universities ranked in groups 1 (9 instructors) and 2 (5 instructors), constituting 64.29% and 35.71% respectively of the universities in these groups. The findings revealed that 50.00% of the instructors aimed to equip students with entrepreneurial skills to address social and sustainable issues (Education through sustainable entrepreneurship or social entrepreneurship). These instructors employed experiential learning approaches that facilitated students in applying entrepreneurial skills and learning how to create value for others. The study also identified the instructors' perspectives on the problems, obstacles, and challenges of teaching entrepreneurship. The challenges encompassed various dimensions, such as university policies, instructor's perspectives, understanding the importance of entrepreneurial skills, and designing a curriculum that fosters a sustainable entrepreneurial mindset and lifestyle for students.
