The Learning Outcome of The 1st Grade Early Childhood Students in Ayutthaya Primary Educational Service Area Office 2 by Project-Based Activities

The objectives of this research were to 1) study the learning outcome of the 1st grade early childhood students in Ayutthaya Primary Educational Service Area Office 2 by Project-based activities on the ability of problem solving and desirable characteristics, and 2) compare the learning outcome of the 1st grade early childhood students by project-based activities on the ability of problem solving before and after learning. The sample population of this research were 30 students, aged between 4-5 years, in the 1st -2nd grade semester of early childhood in academic year of 2017 at Wat Muangwan (Suan Krabuanyooth Prachason) School, Bangbal District, Ayutthaya Province, under the jurisdiction of Ayutthaya Primary Educational Service Area Office 2. They were selected using simple random sampling. The research instruments consisted of project-based activity and the problem solving evaluation form. The data were analyzed using percentage, means, standard deviation, t-test for the one sample and dependent t-test.
The findings were as follows.
- The learning outcome by Project-based activities;
1.1 In view of problem solving ability, it was found that before being taught by project-based activities, students achieved 60 % out of the full score at 63.33 %. After learning, students reached 60 % out of the full score at 96.67 %.
1.2 In view of desirable characteristics, students passed 60 % out of the full score at 63.33 %.
- 2. The comparison of the learning outcome of the problem solving ability of the 1st grade early childhood students by project-based activities before and after learning was found that the after learning outcome was higher at the significant level of 0.05.
