RESEARCH MANAGEMENT FOR QUALITY EXCELLENCE IN HIGHER EDUCATION

To support the research activities and to facilitate research to be carried out for an intended
purpose, so-called “Research management” is considered the main mission of quality higher
education. Although the researcher is very knowledgeable in the research methodology, it also requires the support units, such as funding, publishing resources, or the registration of intellectual property. Otherwise the research cannot happen. At present, research is
complex and cannot depend only on the potential of researchers. For agencies
that need to create a lot of research, such as higher education institutions with a
direct mission of research conducting, there will be specific units, such as research
institutes or research administrative at the faculty level, or at the university level, with a direct responsibility of managing units the system of research tasks. For this reason, it is necessary to study and understand the research management system. The use of research
management strategies in higher education in each phase of upstream, midstream and downstream approaches, towards excellence in quality assurance in higher
education
