The Priority Needs of School Management in The Special Economic Zone, Sa Kaeo Province, Based on The Student Desirable Characteristics

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study the priority needs of school management in the special economic zone, Sa Kaeo Province, based on the concept of student desirable characteristics. The population ware 11 opportunity education schools in the special economic zone, Aranyaprathet district, Sa Kaeo Province under the Primary Education Service Area 2. The research informants consisted of 11 Directors of School and 143 teachers. The total of this research were 154 informants. The research instrument used in this study was 5 rating scaled questionnaire. The data ware analyzed by frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Modified Priority Needs Index (PNIModified). The research results turned out as follows. The priority needs of school management in the special economic zone, Sa Kaeo Province, based on the concept of student desirable characteristics, sorted from the highest to the lowest PNIModified revealed that: 1) For teaching (PNIModified = 0.199); the highest element of priority need was Occupational Skill (PNIModified = 0.315) and the lowest element of priority need was Moral (PNIModified = 0.173); 2) For evaluation (PNIModified = 0.198), the highest element of priority need was Occupational Skill (PNIModified = 0.237) while the lowest element of priority need was Moral (PNIModified = 0.188); 3) For curriculum Development (PNIModified = 0.196), the highest element of priority need was Occupational Skill (PNIModified = 0.251) and the lowest element of priority need was Moral (PNIModified = 0.188) and 4) For extra-curricular activities (PNIModified = 0.186), the highest element of priority need was Occupational Skill (PNIModified = 0.204) while the lowest element of priority need was Moral (PNIModified = 0.160).
