Abstract

The purposes of this research were to 1) study the conceptual framework; 2) develop a causal model of CCPR leadership, proactive role of school administrators and developmental supervision, with effective teacher performance as mediator, affecting identity of students in Bangkok Metropolis; and 3) validate consistency of a causal model with the empirical data.  A sample of 480 was determined the sample size of 20 times per one observed variable (Hair et al., cited in Nonglak Wiratchai, 1999). It was randomly drawn by cluster sampling and sample sampling from schools under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. The research instruments were questionnaires with reliability 0.96. Structural equation modeling was used to test and validate the developed model.

The results of the research revealed that: 1) CCPR leadership, proactive role of school administrators, developmental supervision, and effective performance of teachers had overall affected identity of students in Bangkok Metropolis at a statistically significant level of 0.05, with influence values of 0.13, 0.36, 0.51 and 0.70, respectively; and 2) validation of consistency of the developed causal model with the empirical data confirmed that the model was consistent with empirical data with such indices as Chi-Square/Degree of Freedom equal to 0.05, Goodness of Fit equal to 0.98, Adjust Goodness of Fit equal to 0.95, Root Mean Square Residual equal to 0.03, and Root Mean Square Error of Approximation equal to 0.02.
