A Model Development for Solving to the Loss of the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority

This research aimed to study: 1. a problem of loss; 2. a model development of loss solving; and 3. an assessment of model, for verification of solving model in the loss problem of Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA). The mixed research was divided into 3 phases along within the study steps of this purposes. The results found that: 1. The problems of loss was found that 1) the policy and objective were inconsistent; 2) the budgetary support from the government was insufficient; 3) the service qualities were problems; and 4) the personnel cost was high. 2. The model development in the problems’ solution consist 3 elements as following: 1) debt financing for restructuring in the loss; 2) bus system reform and staff reduction. And 3. The assessment of the model from the experts found that it is possible and appropriate in demonstrating and implementation for verification of solving model in the loss problem of Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA).
