The Development of Local Products and Contemporary Arts as the Souvenirs for the Community-Based Tourism of the Khorum Sub-district, Uttaradit Province

Abstract

The research on the development of local products and contemporary arts as the souvenirs for the community-based tourism of Khorum Sub-district, Uttaradit province, aimed to: 1) develop community products and contemporary art works as souvenirs; 2) evaluate the results of the development community product and contemporary art work as souvenirs for community-based tourism, Khorum sub-district, Uttaradit province. The instruments used in the research were interview forms and satisfaction questionnaires. It was found that there were 17 community products and contemporary art pieces created, comprising 3 contemporary round relief sculptures, four base-relief sculptures, five paintings created with watercolor paints, poster paints, colored pencils, and EE pencils, and five (screen) printing pieces. These came with designs as souvenirs in mulberry paper packaging. Then the prototypes were prepared and satisfaction surveys were conducted with the relevant sample groups. It was found that the overall satisfaction towards community products and contemporary art works as souvenirs for community-based tourism was at the highest level (average 4.52). When considering each aspect, it was found that paintings received the most satisfaction which was at the highest level (average 4.58), followed by mulberry paper packaging which was at the highest level of satisfaction (average 4.55), and (screen) printing which was also at the highest level of satisfaction (average 4.51) respectively.
