Clothing for Woman Design Inspired by Ban Chiang’s Bronze Udon Thani Province

Abstract

The Research project of clothing for women design inspired by Ban Chiang’s bronze Udon Thani Province aims to 1) studying the patterns and the forms of Ban Chiang’s bronze, 2) design the clothing for woman inspired from Ban Chiang’s bronze and 3) evaluating consumer opinion towards to new design clothing. The informants and research instrument by interviewing the expert in the art and culture of Ban Chiang field and the expert in clothing design filed, evaluating the optimal of design from the women, age between 20-25 years old, with total 100 people, data analysis by using percentage, mean and standard deviation. The conclusion of research found Ban Chiang’s bronze had aged about 2,300-1,800 years; most of them were the decoration such as bracelet, internode arm, small bell and necklet, the outstanding characteristic of pattern was a spiral pattern as same as the pottery, the surface area of bronze had a rust with occur from the chemical reaction inside therefore conduct the pattern characteristic and surface area with occur from the rust on the bronze to design a clothing for women with Street Wear style for 5 sets by using a pattern that occur on Ban Chiang’s bronze brought to duplicate and designed to a new pattern, method techniques were the dyeing from rust, the printing on fabric combine with compressing pattern from the mold on the cotton fabric, the main tone color consists of a green from a rust from the bronze, an orange from trend of spring summer 2019, thereby, brought to the optimal evaluation through the women aged between 20-25 years old, the conclusion found the optimal of the 1^st set was at a high level (mean 4.40), the optimal of the 2^nd set was at a high level (mean 4.29), the optimal of the 3^rd was at a high level (mean 4.34), the optimal of the 4^th set was at a high level (mean 4.16) and the optimal of the 5^th set was at a high level.
