Abstract

Porcelain inlay craft is a folk art from the Chaoshan area of Guangdong Province, China. It stands as a distinctive architectural decoration and epitomizes the traditional culture of Chaoshan. This research, conducted through literature review, interdisciplinary studies, and field investigations, aims to unveil the artistic characteristics and aesthetic values of porcelain inlay and to explore its potential applications in modern creative works. The study results indicate that the porcelain inlay craft embodies significant regional artistic features and profound aesthetic values, integrating history, art, culture, and craftsmanship. Merging with modern aesthetics and technology, the porcelain inlay craft can not only undergo innovative inheritance but also stands to find new applications in modern creative works for outdoor spaces. This offers theoretical support and practical recommendations for the further inheritance and development of porcelain inlay art.
