Abstract

The Design and Development of Local Products to Enhance the Grassroots Economy Inspired by Honoring the Sirisinlapin Artist: The Case Study of Community Products at Lung Pradu Subdistrict, Huai Thalaeng District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province aimed 1) to design and develop community products to enhance the grassroots economy inspired by "Honoring the Sirisinlapin Artist," and 2) to evaluate the design and development of community products. The present study employed a quantitative method, with interviews as the primary data collection. The research instruments comprised of an interview and questionnaires including 1) the interview was used to gather data from 18 entrepreneurs of the mat weaving and the basketry product communities in Lung Pradu Subdistrict, representing 72 percent of the total population of 25 producers selected for the interview using a simple random sampling, 2) The questionnaire for designing and developing products were utilized with 3 design experts using purposive sampling, and 3) the questionnaire for evaluating satisfaction of 50 consumers of the communities using random sampling. The results elucidated a high level of satisfaction towards the designed and developed products inspired by "Princess Sirivannavari's Hook Pattern" ( = 4.94) and a high level of satisfaction towards the designed and developed products using the pattern of "Various Pattern, Diversity of Life" by Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana (  = 4.88). Implementing patterns inspired by "Honoring the Sirisinlapin Artist" has resulted in enhancements to the grassroots economy, as evidenced by increased income levels observed before and after integrating these patterns. It was discovered that entrepreneurs gained a higher profit, over 200%, from the previous sales of community products.
