Abstract

This is the qualitative research that aims to the analyze of the components of strategic management model in the secondary schools under the office of the Basic Education Commission, Bangkok Metropolis. In this regard, the documentary research technique is employed through the review of books, textbooks, articles, academic papers and the retrieval of electronic data from 1971-2016 (in a total number of 73 items). The content analysis form was used for data collection purpose along with the employment of content analysis in analyzing the data. The research results revealed that the element model for strategic management in the secondary schools under the auspices of the Basic Education Commission comprises 3 following parts: 1) strategic management process refers to the strategy formulation process and the suitable strategy implementation for the efficient and effective achievement of school’s objectives based on the utilization of available resources to enhance the competitiveness in the midst of changing environment. Also, the stakeholders are taken into account. In particular, the strategic management process consists of environment analysis, strategy formulation, strategy implementation as well as strategy evaluation and control. 2) The implementation is the work process involving the preparation, application and evaluation; and, lastly, 3) the success conditions are the limitations of the implementation of strategic management approach.
