Comparison Study of Employee’ Satisfaction of Housekeeping Division and Front Office Division in 5 - star Hotels, Bangkok Metropolitan Area

Abstract
The objectives of this study were to examine the individual, motivational, and supporting factors affecting housekeepers’ satisfactions towards 5-star hotels in Bangkok. The samples were 400 housekeepers who worked in the 5-star hotels in Bangkok. Convenience sampling was employed to randomly recruit the housekeepers who worked in 37 5-star hotels across Bangkok. Data were gathered by using a questionnaire and were analyzed using several statistical methods including descriptive and inferential statistics such as percentage, average, standard deviation, independent sample t-test, One-Way ANOVA, and multiple linear regression. Data analysis was processed by the statistical package program.
The results showed that the majority of the samples were single women aged 36-40. Most of them had monthly income of 15,001 – 20,000 Baht and held a bachelor’s degree. Moreover, most of the samples had at least 1-5 years of work experience. The different demographic traits such as genders, age, education, marital status, monthly income, period of work, and position affected the employees’ satisfaction in different manners. Motivational and supporting factors generally had relationship with the housekeepers’ satisfactions towards 5-star hotels in Bangkok at the significance level of 0.05.
