The Application of Supply Chain Process Using Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) Model: Case Study of a Public Company in Thailand

Abstract

        This research aims to study how to application of supply chain process using SCOR model of a public company in Thailand with SCOR Racetrack, which is a unique method of APICS and has never been applied with public companies in Thailand. Research deploys qualitative research method using a case study, collected data of study from participation observation and the actual implementation of a case study company. The data is analyzed from the actual implementation. The result of this study is presented through descriptive analysis.

        The result of this study shows that the case study company applies supply chain process using SCOR Model with SCOR Racetrack, which consists of 5 main steps: 1)
Pre-SCOR - provide knowledge about the supply chain and the SCOR model for employees as well as define roles and responsibilities of the project team 2) Set the scope - create a common understanding of supply chain and industry situations in order to link each function in the supply chain as well as define metrics which align with business strategy 3) Configure the Supply Chain –study as-is supply chain processes and define the  supply chain performance measurement to align with the business goals 4) Optimize Projects - define the improvement opportunities from  as-is supply chain processes to achieve defined targets with project prioritization and 5) Ready for Implementation - prepare for the implementation of the to-be supply chain process through the experiment of designed supply chain processes in order to ensure that they are practical. The roll-out plan is also developed in this phase. From this case study, the public companies who are looking for the implementation of SCOR can use the result as a guideline to ensure the successful and efficient implementation.
