The Relationship between Happy Workplace Implementation and Happiness at Work: Perspectives from Human Resource Mangmers in Hotels of Eastern Thailand

Abstract

This research aimed to identify perspectives towards ‘happy workplace’ implementations and happiness at work at the organizational level, as well as indicate the relationship between happy workplace implementations and happiness at work at the organization level according to the perspectives of human resource administrators of hotels in the Eastern region of Thailand. It adopted a quantitative research method via the use of a survey. The population studied consisted of human resource managers of hotels in the Eastern region of Thailand, obtained through the stratified random sampling. Questionnaires were used as a research tool for data collection. The findings revealed that, as a whole, the questionnaire respondents agreed to a high degree with happy workplace implementations. When considering aspect by aspect, it was found that the fifth dimension which was ‘happiness towards the organization’ was agreed to at a high level. In regard to the relationship between happy workplace implementations and happiness at work at the organizational level according to the perspectives of the human resource managers of hotels in the Eastern region, it was also found that there were relationships with statistical significance at the .05 level.
