Western Vocal Teaching Instructional Model in Higher Education Academy, Thailand

The objective of this research study was to examine the Western Vocal Instructional Methods at Higher Education Academies in Thailand and to develop a Western Vocal Instructional Model at Higher Education Academies in Thailand. In order to apply the design of the Instructional Model and to further develop it, Western vocal teachers from state-run Higher Education Academies were interviewed and 10 practical skills used in classes were observed. The analysis using basic statistics, such as averages () and standard deviations (S.D.), as well as the Paired sample t-test. The following results were found: the Western Vocal Instructional Methods at Higher Education Academies in Thailand, the instructional methods are selected to be in alignment with the students’ individuality. There are post-teaching records after every class, as well as evaluation of practical skills in the Western vocal courses, which are in accordance with the course criteria. According to the quality criteria, the results of the search for effectiveness in the model of the Western vocal instruction was found to be “Good”. After having followed the Instructional Model, the students were found to have acquired higher scores on the Vocal Skills Post-test than on the Pre-test at a statistically significant level of 0.5. Finally, it was found that the students were satisfied with the Instructional Management, which had followed the Instructional Model. Overall, their satisfaction was found to be at the highest level ( = 4.63, S.D. = 0.18).
