About the Journal

Aims and Scope

This journal aims to consider and publish academic articles and research articles in both Thai and English in the fields of education, political science, business administration, linguistics, social development, and interdisciplinary social sciences. We invite researchers, academics, students, or practitioners in related fields from higher education institutions and various organizations to submit manuscripts that have not been previously published in any journal. Authors can submit manuscripts covering the following topics:

Types of Peer Review

The steps for academic articles and research articles to be published in the journal are as follows:

1. The submitted academic articles and research articles will undergo an initial review by the editorial board, which may accept or reject the submission.

2. If the articles pass the initial review, they will undergo a peer review by at least three experts in the relevant field to assess the quality. This is done through a Double-Blind Peer Review process, where the reviewers do not know the authors' identities and vice versa. The articles must be accepted by the reviewers for publication.

3. The journal's editorial board will consider the evaluation results from the three reviewers, with possible outcomes being: 1) acceptance without revisions, 2) revisions required based on the reviewers' recommendations, and 3) rejection.

Publication Frequency

The journal is published biannually, with two issues per year:

  • Issue 1: January to June
  • Issue 2: July to December

Open Access Policy

The journal follows an open access policy, providing immediate access to its content. This approach aims to facilitate the global exchange of knowledge by making research freely available to the public.

The Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences is sponsored by the Institute of Research and Development at Pibulsongkram Rajabhat University.

Journal History

2007

The Office of Graduate Studies Coordination, Pibulsongkram Rajabhat University, recognized the importance of disseminating research and academic work produced by graduate students. As a result, the Graduate Studies Journal was first established in 2007. The journal was published twice a year:

  • Issue 1 (January–June)
  • Issue 2 (July–December)
    During its initial stage, the journal had not yet been indexed in the Thai-Journal Citation Index (TCI) database.

2014

The journal was renamed
“Humanities and Social Sciences Journal of Graduate School, Pibulsongkram Rajabhat University”
and received its ISSN: 2408-1256.
Dr. Sommai Amdonkloy served as the Editor to prepare the journal for quality assessment and inclusion in the TCI database.

2015

The journal was evaluated and accepted for inclusion in the Thai-Journal Citation Index Centre (TCI) and classified as a Tier 2 journal in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences. The editorial team consisted of:

  1. Associate Professor Dr. Suwaree Wongwattana (Editor-in-Chief)
  2. Associate Professor Dr. Yuporn Rimchonkarn (Editor)
  3. Patcharawalai Meesap (Editor)
  4. Assistant Professor Dr. Anchana Preechaworaphan (Editor)

2017

Following a subsequent evaluation, the journal was upgraded to Tier 1 in the Humanities and Social Sciences category of the TCI database, with the same editorial board continuing in their roles.

2019

A change in editorial leadership was made, appointing
Assistant Professor Dr. Anchana Preechaworaphan
as Editor, effective from Volume 13, Issue 1 (2019) onward.

In August 2019, the journal’s administrative responsibility was transferred from the Graduate School to the Research and Development Institute, Pibulsongkram Rajabhat University.

2020–2024

In January 2020, the journal continued to be recognized as a Tier 1 journal in Humanities and Social Sciences within the TCI database. During this period,
Assistant Professor Dr. Jitsirin Konkong
served as Editor.

In November 2020, the journal title was changed to
“Humanities and Social Sciences Journal of Pibulsongkram Rajabhat University”.
The journal continued using the existing ISSN numbers:

  • E-ISSN: 2465-5392
  • Print ISSN: 2408-1256
    These details were verified by the National Library of Thailand. The new title officially took effect from Volume 15, Issue 1 (2021).

2023

The journal received new ISSN numbers as follows:

  • Print ISSN: 2408-1256 → 2985-0479
  • Online ISSN: 2465-5392 → 2985-0487
    These new ISSNs have been in use since Volume 17, Issue 2 (July–December 2023).

2025

The journal underwent another quality assessment and retained its status as a Tier 1 journal in Humanities and Social Sciences in the TCI database.
Dr. Nattawut Khaosaard was appointed as Editor.

2026

In February 2026,
Assistant Professor Dr. Pawida Mahawong
was appointed as the Editor of the journal.
