Elder tourist’s satisfaction of hotel facilities : A case study of hotels in Ratchadapisek Sub-District, Bangkok

Abstract

          This research aims to studyon the satisfaction of the elderly tourist to hotel facilities: a specific case in Ratchadapisek sub-district, Bangkok. The sample in this study were 400 elderly tourists who had stayed in hotels in Ratchadapisek sub-district, Bangkok. All data was collected using questionnaire, then analyzed by SPSS program for the outcomes of frequency, percentage, average and standard deviation. The results revealed that majority of respondents were 60 – 64 year-old women (33% and 59.8% respectively) who had married (72.8%). They mostly had graduated bachelor degree (60.8%), had their own business (43.8%) and earned between 15,000 – 30,000 baht monthly (58.5%). About 26.8% of the samples had health issue on lower back pain, which is the greatest number for those illness. Moreover, up to 67.5% reported the lacking of exercise. An average of satisfaction in general was ( = 4.58, SD. = 0.57).The highest satisfaction of respondents on the facilities in hotels was the elderly door ( = 4.58, SD. = 0.57) when compared to the other 10 kinds of facilities, specifically, the label to elderly facilities ( = 4.58, SD. = 0.59). The least satisfaction of elderly tourists on hotels’ satisfaction was Theaters, auditoriums and hotels which had score in high level ( = 4.42, SD. = 0.57). Finally, the lowest satisfaction mean was emergency notification system ( = 4.42, SD. = 0.56).
