Public Service of Local Government Organization to Support the Aging Society in the Case of the Long-Term Care Service Project in Public Health for the Elderly and Dependent People at Nam Som Municipality, Nam Som District, Udon Thani Province

The objectives of this research were 1) to study public service provision of local administrative organizations to support the aging society in the case of the public health long-term care service project for the elderly and dependent people; Nam Som Subdistrict Municipality, Nam Som District, Udon Thani Province and 2) to study people’s opinions on public service provision of local administrative organizations to support the aging society in the case of the long-term care service project in public health for the elderly and dependent people. Nam Som Municipality, Nam Som District, Udon Thani Province. This research was carried out using quantitative research methodology by collecting document information distribution of questionnaires and observation both participatory and non-participatory. The population and the sample are people with elderly people and dependent people living in Nam Som Subdistrict Municipality, Nam Som District, Udon Thani Province from 12 villages, totaling 1,430 people. A sample of 313 subjects was determined using Yamane’s formula at 95% confidence level and accidental sampling. Then the data collected from the questionnaire was analyzed using descriptive statistics, including percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The recommendation will use
descriptive analysis. The results of the study revealed that public opinions towards public service provision of local administrative organizations to support the aging society in the case of the long-term care service project in public health for the elderly and dependent persons in Nam Som Sub-district Municipality, Nam Som District, Udon Thani Province, all 4 aspects in the overall level are at a high level. with an average of 3.60 (S.D.= 0.92). When considering each aspect, it was found that the most was the prevention and control of the disease with an average of 3.81 (S.D.= 0.95), followed by medical treatment with an average of 3.63 (S.D.= 0.93) and the least Rehabilitation The mean was 3.39 (S.D.= 0.96), respectively. The suggestion is Nam Som Subdistrict Municipality should follow-up and advice the elderly and people with dependent conditions to rehabilitate their physical and mental abilities to maintain good health. Follow up with the elderly and dependents who need help, such as tools and appliances that are insufficient to meet the needs of the patients in daily life and should have public relations to each village. The elderly and those with dependent conditions should get to know the news in organizing brain and memory rehabilitation activities such as meditation training, memory review and participate in more activities.
