การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาความต้องการจำเป็นของการบริหารสู่ความเป็นเลิศของโรงเรียน 2) นำเสนอแนวทางพัฒนาการบริหารสู่ความเป็นเลิศของโรงเรียนในเครือข่ายพัฒนาคุณภาพการศึกษาขนอม จังหวัดนครศรีธรรมราช ตามแนวคิดความเป็นผู้ประกอบการของนักเรียน ใช้วิธีการวิจัยเชิงบรรยาย ประชากร คือ โรงเรียนในเครือข่ายพัฒนาคุณภาพการศึกษาขนอม จำนวน 6 โรงเรียน ตัวอย่างผู้ให้ข้อมูล 72 คน ประกอบด้วย ผู้อำนวยการโรงเรียน 6 คน หัวหน้ากลุ่มสาระการเรียนรู้ 32 คน และครู 34 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ แบบสอบถาม และแบบประเมินความเหมาะสมความเป็นไปได้ของร่างแนวทางฯ โดยวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยการแจกแจงความถี่ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ยเลขคณิต ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน การวิเคราะห์ดัชนีลำดับความต้องการจำเป็น ฐานนิยม
ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) ความต้องการจำเป็นของการพัฒนาการบริหารสู่ความเป็นเลิศของโรงเรียนในเครือข่ายพัฒนาคุณภาพการศึกษาขนอม จังหวัดนครศรีธรรมราช ตามแนวคิดความเป็นผู้ประกอบการของนักเรียนนั้นคือ ด้านผลลัพธ์เกี่ยวกับความเป็นผู้ประกอบการ ด้านความมีนวัตกรรมมีความต้องการจำเป็นสูงสุด (PNImodified = 0.306 และ PNImodified = 0.264) 2) และนำเสนอแนวทางพัฒนาการบริหารสู่ความเป็นเลิศ มีแนวทางหลัก 7 แนวทาง และ 29 แนวทางย่อย โดยเรียงตามลำดับดัชนีความต้องการจำเป็นดังนี้ (1) พัฒนาผลลัพธ์ (2) พัฒนาการปฏิบัติการองค์กร (3) พัฒนานักเรียนและผู้มีส่วนได้ส่วนเสีย (4) พัฒนาบุคลากร (5) พัฒนาการวัด การวิเคราะห์และการจัดการความรู้ (6) พัฒนากลยุทธ์ และ (7) พัฒนาการนำองค์กร
