Abstract
The objectives of this study were 1) to study the conflict management of administrators in the 21st century in schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 2; 2) to compare the conflict management of administrators which were classified by gender, educational background, experience in school administration, and school size, 3) to study the opinions and suggestions towards the conflict management of administrators. The population were 260 administrators. The sample included 240 administrators whom were selected by random sampling method and 5 experts in the field of educational administration whom were selected by purposive sampling. The tools used for data collection were a questionnaire and an interview. The statistics used for analyzing the data included percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test statistic and one–way ANOVA.
The results of the study were as follows, 1) The conflict management of administrators in the 21st century in schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 2, overall results were at a high level. The collaboration is the highest average value. The second highest average value was reasoning and the lowest average value has avoiding. 2) The comparisons on the conflict management of administrators showed statistically significant differences at the level of 0.05 in gender and experience in school administration. However, there were no different results in educational background and school size. 3) The opinions and suggestions on the conflict management of administrators in the 21st century skills were applying relevant methods for the appropriate situations, emphasizing on reasoning, and collaborative teamwork.
