Team Bulding Approaches for Student Care and Support System Under The Secondary Educational Service Area Office

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study the state of team building and to propose team building development guidelines for the student care and support system under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Nan. The first step was to study the state of team building. The 306 samples consisted of school administrators and teachers under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Nan; 30 administrators by purposive sampling and 276 teachers by stratified sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire. The statistics used for data analysis were mean and standard deviation. The second step was to study team building development guidelines. The informants were 5 experts, selected by purposive sampling. The in-depth interview was used for collecting information. The data were statistically analyzed using content analysis.

          The results were as follows.

          1) The overall state of team building for student care and support system was at high level. When considering each aspect, the highest mean was perception of the team’s problem in student care and support system the lowest was performance assessment of team for student care and support system.

          2) The guidelines for team building development were creating work manual by administrators, holding a meeting for discussion and arrangement of an action plan, and providing teachers with an opportunity to express their views. Moreover, the administrators should constantly support and encourage teachers to pay attention and to be committed to their work, while conducting teacher or team worker performance evaluation with fairness and transparency.
