THE PRIORITY NEEDS OF DEVELOPING ACADEMIC MANAGEMENT OF SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN SAMUTSONGKHRAM PROVINCE BASED ON THE CONCEPT OF EXPERT LEARNER

Abstract

This research aimed to study the current and the desirable states and to assess the priority need index of developing academic management of secondary schools in Samutsongkhram province based on the concept of expert learner. The informants were school directors, deputy directors and teachers, totally 201, of secondary schools in Samutsongkhram province. The research instrument was a questionnaire which had an index of item objective congruence (IOC) of 1.00. The data were analyzed by mean (X ̅) and priority needs index modified ( PNI Modified).

The research findings showed that, overall, the current and desirable states of developing academic management of secondary schools in Samutsongkhram province based on the concept of expert learner were at a high level (X ̅ = 3.851) and the highest level (X ̅ = 4.718), respectively. The first priority need index fell on curriculum development (PNI Modified = 0.229) followed by learning Management (PNI Modified = 0.224) and evaluation (PNI Modified = 0.222), respectively.
