EXAMINING EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP LEVEL OF CAMBODIAN SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN BATTAMBANG PROVINCE

Abstract

This quantitative study examines exemplary leadership levels of secondary school students in Battambang province, Cambodia and compares exemplary leadership regarding gender, education level, and grade. 14 sample schools were selected using the stratified and simple random sampling, and 64 students out of 72 completed the five-point Likert scale questionnaires that were marked as valid and thus were chosen to be a part of the study. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including mean, standard deviation, and inferential statistics, including independent sample t-test and one-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The findings indicated that there was no significant difference in exemplary leadership levels of secondary school students regarding gender, educational levels and grades. Students’ exemplary leadership level was slightly above average (=3.69). Encourage the heart dimension was scored the highest (=3.81), while the lowest mean value was inspire a shared vision dimension (=3.37).
