Academic Administration Strategies to Develop Innovators’ Characteristics of Students in Vocational Institutes under OVEC

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to: 1) study the conceptual framework in academic administration to develop innovators’ characteristics of students in vocational institutes under Office of Vocational Education Commission (OVEC), 2) explore present and expected conditions of academic administration to develop innovators’ characteristics of students in vocational institutes under OVEC, and 3) develop academic administration strategies to develop innovators’ characteristics of students in vocational institutes under OVEC. The research employed multiphase mixed method research with 822 samples consisting of vocational administrators, lecturers, and students of vocational institutes under OVEC. The research instrument included questionnaires and recording forms. The collected data were analyzed by frequency, percentage, men, SD, and content analysis.

The results revealed that: 1) the conceptual framework consisted of 3 conceptual frameworks: 1.1) academic administration to develop innovators’ characteristics of students in vocational institutes under OVEC. 1.2) The innovators’ characteristics and 1.3) strategy development and evaluation. 2) The analysis of the present and expected conditions in developing innovators’ characteristics of students in vocational institutes under OVEC revealed high level of both conditions. The analysis of the external context also revealed high level of the present and expected conditions. And 3) The academic administration strategies to develop innovators’ characteristics of students in vocational institutes under OVEC consisted of 4 main strategies, 12 secondary strategy and 39 development guidelines.
