The Interest and Needs of Youth In AgriculturalOccupation : A Case Study of Banthaen Subdistrict AdministrationOrganization,Banthaen District, Chaiyaphoom Province

Abstract

การศึกษาครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงสำรวจมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความสนใจและความต้องการของเยาวชนในการทำอาชีพด้านการเกษตร เพื่อสรุปประมวลเป็นข้อมูลประกอบเป็นแนวทางในการจัดทำแผนพัฒนาท้องถิ่น ประชากรได้แก่เยาวชนที่กำลังศึกษาในภาคบังคับในโรงเรียนในเขตองค์การบริหารส่วนตำบลบ้านแท่น กลุ่มตัวอย่างจำนวน 60 คนได้จากการสุ่มแบบชั้นภูมิและการสุ่มอย่างง่าย ใช้เครื่องมือเป็นแบบสัมภาษณ์ และกรอบการสนทนากลุ่ม ข้อมูลที่ได้นำมาวิเคราะห์สรุปเป็นประเด็นตามวัตถุประสงค์

ผลการศึกษาพบว่า 1) กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่สนใจอาชีพการเกษตร (ร้อยละ 58.33) และไม่สนใจอาชีพการเกษตร (ร้อยละ 41.67) 2) ความต้องการรับการสนับสนุนพบว่า ต้องการมากที่สุดคือด้านงบประมาณ(ร้อยละ 54.28)รองลงมาคือสนับสนุนเมล็ดพันธุ์ (ร้อยละ 22.86) และน้อยสุดคือสนับสนุนวัสดุอุปกรณ์ (ร้อยละ5.72)สำหรับการสนทนากลุ่ม เยาวชนที่สนใจอาชีพเกษตรจะเป็นเพศชายจะมีทัศนคติที่ดีต่ออาชีพเกษตร มากกว่าเพศหญิง ประเภทการเกษตรที่สนใจจะเป็นการปลูกพืชผักการทำไร่นาสวนผสม ซึ่งสอดคล้องกับแนวทางเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง และแนวนโยบายของรัฐบาล หากแต่เยาวชนกลุ่มตัวอย่างยังไม่เข้าใจความหมายของเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงอย่างลึกซึ้งจึงต้องได้รับการส่งเสริมสนับสนุนอย่างต่อเนื่องเพื่อให้เกิดการพึ่งพาตนเองในอนาคต

This is a survey research aimed to study interest and needs of youth in agricultural occupation. The outcome of the study will be a data base for local administration development plan. The research tools included: structural interview and frame for focus group discussion. The population consisted of youth who were studying in schools in Banthaen Sub- district Administration Organization. The samples were drawn from Stratified Random Sampling and Simple Random Sampling techniques. The obtained data was analyzed for frequencies and percentages then summarized and reported in descriptive manner. The results were 1) 58.33% of the samples were interested in agricultural occupation and 41.67% were not interested. 2) It was found that samples had needs in receiving supports from local administration; 54.28% in funding, 22.86% in product processing, the least need was 5.72% in agricultural technology. It was also found that youth who were interested in agricultural occupation showed good attitude towards the occupation which were males more than females. They were interested in vegetables farm and mixed farming that can be consumed in the family. This interest was in line with self-sufficiency economy concept. However, the samples indicated that they did not understand the concept clearly. They needed supports from concerned organizations and local organizations continuously.
