SOTUS The Evil Sophomore and the Freshman : Construction of Queer  Identity in the Y Novel

บทคัดย่อ

บทความวิจัยนี้มุ่งศึกษาการประกอบสร้างอัตลักษณ์เพศนอกกรอบใน  นวนิยายรักวัยรุ่นแนววายเรื่อง SOTUS พี่ว้ากตัวร้ายกับนายปีหนึ่ง ผลการศึกษาพบว่า นวนิยายเรื่องนี้นำเสนอความเป็นเพศนอกกรอบแบบตายตัวตามขนบนิยมทางสังคม โดยใช้สูตรนวนิยายวาย 2 สูตรในการประกอบสร้างอัตลักษณ์เพศนอกกรอบ คือ 1) รูปลักษณ์แสดงเพศสถานะ  2) พฤติกรรมแสดงเพศสถานะ จากผลการศึกษาชี้ให้เห็นว่านวนิยายเรื่องนี้ประกอบสร้างอัตลักษณ์ให้กับตัวละครเพศนอกกรอบแบบแช่แข็งตามสูตรวรรณกรรมวาย เพื่อตอบสนองรสนิยมการอ่านของกลุ่มนักอ่านวาย มิใช่การนำเสนอภาพความเป็นเพศนอกกรอบในสังคมที่มีความหลากหลายทางเพศอย่างในปัจจุบัน

Abstract

Research  article aimed to study the construction of queer identity in the young adult romance novel "SOTUS" The evil sophomore and the freshman. The study indicated that this novel presents on the stereotype about queer people based on social norms by the use of the two Y novel formulas for creating  the queer identity: 1) Appearance to present a gender identity, 2) Behavior to present a gender identity. The study pointed out that the novel has created an identity for a frozen queer character based on the Y literary formula in order to satisfy the Y readers' preferences in which it does not present the image of being gay people in the present society which comprises of gender variance.
