Abstract

This research aims to study the system and mechanism of knowledge management of Royal Project Foundation for the development of the northern regions of Thailand. The research is qualitative using in-depth interview method. Purposive sampling technique is used to filter only samples with direct experience and knowledge working in different positions in the Royal Project Foundation. The 22 key informants include 4 committees, 6 high, mid and entry-level executives, 12 operative personnel, acknowledged community leaders and farmer members. The interview is conducted on the aspect of knowledge management according to the structured interview form. The results suggest that the Royal Project Foundation is effective in in all the aspects of knowledge management including knowledge acquisition, creation of know-hows, knowledge recording, knowledge analysis and extraction and knowledge application and appropriate methods for data correction. This results to better welfare of hill tribe farmers and widened access to basic infrastructures.
