BEHAVIOR AND MOTIVATION OF CHINESE TOURISTS TOWARDS CHOOSING 5-STAR HOTELS IN BANGKOK DURING THE EPIDEMIC COVID-19

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study 1) Chinese tourists behavior for choosing 5-star hotels in Bangkok after the Corona virus crisis. And 2) Chinese tourists motivations for choosing 5 star hotels in Bangkok after the Corona virus crisis The sample group used in the research was 400 Chinese tourist traveling Bangkok. The research tools were questionnaires and the statistics used in the research were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Chi square and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA).


The results of the research showed that. (I) Majority of Chinese tourists traveled with 3-4 friends, have traveled to Thailand more than 3 times, search for information on internet, prefer hotels room rate between 2,001 - 5,000 Baht per night, booked via hotel web site, prefer traveling in the weekends of summer, and enjoy activities like drinking at the Club Lounge. (II) Behavior of Chinese tourists towards choosing hotel and personal status are correlated. (III) Motivation of Chinese tourists to choose accommodation hotel and personal status are correlated. (IV) Motivation for  5 star hotel overall at the highest level has mean of 4.67 when classified as the first of three is that  the rooms have international standards. There are various additional services at low price and want to be able to have stayed at this hotel respectively.
